Communications and Campaigns Officer

Permanent full-time

$115,385.00 – $131,387.00 per annum

(commensurate with experience) + Superannuation

+ 5 weeks annual leave + 12 RDOs + Christmas shutdown

 

The New South Wales Nurses and Midwives’ Association (NSWNMA) in association with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation New South Wales Branch (ANMF NSW Branch) seeks a Communications and Campaigns Officer to join our Campaigns and Communications Team on a permanent full-time basis.

In this role, you will achieve the NSWNMA’s strategic objectives by developing communication strategies to promote the reputation of the NSWNMA as a professional advocate for nurses and midwives.


To be considered for this role you require:

Essential

  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ relevant experience in a communications role.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or a similar discipline
  • Excellent writing and editorial skills with ability to provide editorial direction
  • Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills with ability to meet deadlines
  • Advanced research skills with an ability to analyse complex issues and translate them into accessible, user-friendly language
  • Experience working with digital tools and driving content for online platforms
  • Advanced skills in digital communication, including the ability develop and implement online campaigns
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly, as well as cooperatively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking skills and ability to problem solve
  • Demonstrated commitment to the union movement
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination requirements.


Desirable

  • Experience as a journalist or in magazine/online production
  • Experience developing campaign materials in various formats for different audiences
  • Experience in union communications within an organising framework
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver briefs to designers
  • Experience working for a union
  • Experience in community organising or engaging with diverse groups within a campaigning context
  • Successful organising of networks relating to a social justice issue or industrial issue.
