Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS) – Roles and Responsibilities
On the 1st April 2021 the Serious Incident Response Scheme replaced the previous Mandatory reporting process. This session will explore the legislated requirements for reporting, including reviewing one organisation’s Incident Management System. Defining role of the registered/enrolled Nurse in the Compulsory reporting of incidents and the difference between Priority 1 and 2. The session will explore Risks associated with serious incidents as well as Recognising, reporting and responding to serious incidents. Develop an understanding the link between SIRS and Open disclosure.Target Group: This 1.5-hour workshop is targeted to Nurses and and Managers in Residential Aged Care and Community Care
