Amnesty: Birthing Kit Packing Day Cronulla

Amnesty St George and Sutherland Shire Action Group are organising a Birthing Kit Packing Day on 23 November at Cronulla Central, Cronulla Mall from 2 – 5 pm. http://www.mycause.com.au/page/birthingkitpackingdaysutherlandshire Every 90 seconds a woman dies of complications related to pregnancy and childbirth in developing countries.  We believe that we can help change this statistic.  Volunteers will assemble very basic kits which include: – a plastic sheet – soap – 2 gloves – sterile scalpel – 3 cords – 5 gauge squares The kits cost $3 each (through the Birthing Kit Foundation) and we are hoping to arrange 2000 to be packed this time and will need to raise $6000.  We need your help please! amnesty.sutherlandshire@gmail.com
