An Introduction to CBT Strategies: Working with Adults With Anxiety and/or Depression

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) has a strong evidence base in the treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders in adults. This workshop provides an overview of CBT case formulation and an introduction to the major techniques that are generally included in CBT programs for managing (non-complex) anxiety and/or depressive problems in adult populations in community and hospital settings. Specific training in several core CBT strategies including breathing and relaxation techniques, behavioural and exposure methods, and cognitive therapy training will be covered. The workshop will include didactic presentation, case-based discussion, and opportunity for practice of skills. CPD hours can be claimed at your own discretion and a certificate of attendance will be provided.
