Are you interested in how your Union can assist in tackling workplace racism? Are you keen to learn new skills to help you and your colleagues achieve workplaces that are culturally safe and supportive? 

Sign up for the CALD Branch Essentials two-day course being held Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 September 2023.

Learn more about unionism in Australia and how you can be supported to take individual and collective action on matters impacting you in the workplace.

If you live more than 50kms from Waterloo you may be eligible for travel and accommodation costs to be covered by the Association. The Association will book and pay for travel and accommodation where required (click here for more information). 

COURSE PROGRAM

Day 1 – Wednesday 20 September:

• Union History
• Get to know your union
• Branches, resolutions and democracy
• The world as it is and the world as it should be.

Day 2 – Thursday 21 September:

• Power at work
• Mapping, recruitment and having powerful conversations (CALD affinity group)
• Visas, activism, discrimination and the law
• Tackling racism at work – having a conversation around racism and bystander training.
