Alzheimer’s Australia Presents: Dementia-Friendly Communities Involving People with Dementia
 Alzheimer’s  Australia is working to develop dementia-friendly communities and organisations in Australia to tackle  the  stigma and social isolation  which  can be associated with a diagnosis of dementia. We invite policy makers, academics, service providers, businesses, and local government representatives to participate in an interactive workshop on dementia friendly communities facilitated  by UK dementia expert Rachael  Litherland. The Workshop Sessions Will:
• Discuss strategies and approaches for involving people with dementia based on the outcomes of the  Dementia Engagement and Empowerment Project  (DEEP) • Provide  an overview of the  dementia- friendly work taking place  in the  United Kingdom and share the  experiences and lessons learnt  from this work • Identify practical  approaches for creating dementia friendly communities and organisations in Australia • Provide  an opportunity to begin  discussions on how  this work can be implemented in your local community.   2:00 – 2:30pm Registration and afternoon tea 2:30 – 4:00pm Session   RSVP: Friday, 29 March  2014 E: NSW.reception@alzheimers.org.au T: 02 9805  0100 REGISTER NOW
