WHO SHOULD DO THE COURSE?
This course is available to elected Health and Safety Representatives who have completed the 5-day SafeWork NSW approved Health and Safety Representative Training greater than 12 months prior.
Participants must provide evidence of completing the 5-day HSR Training by providing a copy of their original 5-day HSR Training certificate.
Health and Safety Representatives may receive a one-day refresher training annually, allowing them to further their personal development, enhance their skills, and stay updated on the latest developments in work health and safety practices, improving knowledge, confidence, and certainty in their role as an HSR.
It provides a refresher of:
- Understanding Work Health and Safety Legislation
- Understanding of how it applies to your role as an elected Health and Safety Representative (HSR) or deputy HSR
- Knowledge and skills to assist you to improve safety outcomes in your workplace.
This course is a refresher for trained HSR’s that reaffirms the skills and knowledge learnt in the 5-day HSR training. The one-day HSR Refresher Training contributes to fostering a strong safety culture within the organisation and promoting a proactive approach to health and safety through continuous refreshing and improvement of HSRs. By allowing HSRs to attend the HSR Refresher course, the organisation ensures compliance with section 72(1) of the Act, demonstrating a commitment to meeting legal obligations.
TRAINER:
All trainers meet the qualification and experience requirements set out by SafeWork NSW for delivering this training.

* The WHS Act stipulates that HSR course fees are covered by the employer. The NSWNMA can provide an invoice to your employer upon request.
