Médecins Sans Frontières recruitment information evening
Professional Courses
Dear Colleagues, Médecins Sans Frontières will soon be holding a Recruitment Information Evening in Sydney Médecins Sans Frontières is a leading international medical humanitarian organisation providing assistance to people in need in over 70 countries around the world. Our programs address a broad spectrum of medical activities such as women’s health, nutrition, managing epidemics and mass vaccinations, surgery resulting from conflict and violence, neglected diseases such as malaria, HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis, and refugee/IDP health. Health professionals such as doctors, nurses, surgeons, anaesthetists, obstetrician/gynaecologists, midwives, mental health specialists, medical scientists, pharmacists and epidemiologists, along with non medical support staff (for example finance and human resources management professionals) play a vital role in ensuring Médecins Sans Frontières can continue this work. There are currently 65 Australian and New Zealand personnel working in the field, including 19 from NSW. To support the global human resources requirements of our field projects, we are always looking for competent people who are willing to live and work within an international team, share their skills and dedicate their time to support our medical humanitarian work around the world. As part of our ongoing efforts in this regard we will be visiting Sydney on Wed Oct 30 to conduct a Recruitment Information Evening and would love to see interested people from within your network come along. Perhaps they already have Médecins Sans Frontières on their radar or perhaps it could be the start of a plan for the future. Field workers generally return with a range of clinical, managerial and ‘life’ experiences that enable them to contribute in an even greater way in their workplace back home. The Information Night is a great opportunity to hear about the organisation, our work, and how people can become involved. The evening is facilitated by a Field Human Resources Officer with the support of a Returned Field Worker, both of whom have “been there and done that”. Médecins Sans Frontières – Recruitment Information Evening – Sydney Date: Wed 30th Oct Venue: Women’s College, The University of Sydney, 15 Carillon Avenue, Newtown, NSW 2042 Time: 7pm Are you interested to learn about working with a leading international medical humanitarian aid organisation? Come along to our upcoming Recruitment Information Evening in Sydney. We will present information about the global work of Médecins Sans Frontières, outline recruitment criteria and procedures, and provide the opportunity to hear from past field workers about their experiences. No need to book; simply turn up on the night. For more information visit
