Science Communication Fundamentals – Webinar

Professional Courses

1 CPD Hour

Target audience: All

Join Jessica Stokes-Parish a practicing intensive care nurse, educator and influencer who holds a PhD in Medicine while she explores the fundamentals of science communication.

For many nurses and midwives, using social media to engage with the public about science became “a thing” during the pandemic. Whether on purpose or by accident, many became disseminators of science. But what if we were more than disseminators? Science communication presents us as health professionals an opportunity to engage in dialogue, shift some of the power imbalances, and create space for the patient’s voice.

In this session, we will:
• Define science communication
• Discuss relevant theories of science communication
• Identify practical examples of effective science communication
• Discuss important considerations for science communicating with maximal impact

You should join this webinar if you…
• Are a nurse/midwife disseminating health messages online
• Want to understand the evidence for effective science communication

Can’t make it on the day? This session will be recorded and made available following in Member Central for a period of 7 days. Register and we will notify you via email when it is online and available to view.
