Keep Goulburn Hospital public

The NSW government wanted to hand Goulburn Hospital over to the private sector to operate but have backed down – for now.

The community and nurses let the Government know that privatisation would have put patients at risk, threatened the conditions of nurses and midwives and further Americanised our public health system. But the closure of Bourke Street health facility is still slated for 2017. And we want to make sure that no degree of privatisation is brought back as an option during the major redevelopment of the hospital. Keeping our Goulburn Hospital completely public is the only way to ensure that, irrespective of their ability to pay, patients will be provided quality health care. The Goulburn rally is going ahead: bring everyone you know on Sunday October 30th, 11am at Belmore Park.
