The New South Wales Nurses and Midwives’ Association (NSWNMA) in association with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation New South Wales Branch (ANMF NSW Branch) seeks two Membership Services Agent (1x permanent full-time and 1x 6-month temporary full-time) to join our Administrative Services team.


The primary purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality customer service to members and prospective members of the Association, in order to increase member engagement and grow our membership base. This role provides front line customer service to our members, in addition to undertaking administrative and reception responsibilities.


To be successful in this role, you must be an effective communicator with proven customer service experience, a team player, and have a positive attitude. Additionally, you will possess excellent time management skills to ensure tasks are completed promptly.


Key accountabilities:

  1. Ensure a seamless member experience, through delivery of high quality, informed and timely support, including the provision of membership information to members and key stakeholders.
  2. Effectively apply membership information, organisational policies, and legislation to address requests and enquiries, via phone, email and other communication channels.
  3. Redirect enquiries as necessary to relevant areas in accordance with internal processes.
  4. Maintain up to date records, complying with record management processes across a range of systems, ensuring information is accurate and processed correctly.
  5. Accurately update organizational records and databases.
  6. Assist with reception duties, and provide administrative support as required.


Key considerations:

  • Strong communicator, with effective listening skills, able to provide accurate and timely advice and information.
  • Capable of handling various matters simultaneously in a high-volume working environment.
  • Ability to accurately enter high volumes of data.
  • Ability to work autonomously, as well as in a team environment to drive tasks to completion.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and requirements in the Association and team.
  • A passion to improve workers’ lives and a demonstrated commitment to the trade union movement.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and privacy principles.
