CPD Hours: 6
Cost: Members $75, Non-Members $150, lunch and refreshments provided
Are you interested in climate change and how it affects your work? Ever thought about ‘greening’ your clinical environment but don’t know where to start? Wanted to kickstart a workplace sustainability project but didn’t get anywhere? Or maybe you’d like to form a team to suggest an initiative at work? How about advocating for climate action as a nurse and/or midwife outside of work?
Come to the NSWNMA’s Environmental Health Seminar Day! This year’s theme is ‘Sustainability: What can YOU do?’ and we want to empower you to use your voice and take action for sustainability!
Our speakers are nurses and midwives who’ll share their own stories of trialling and implementing sustainability initiatives in their workplaces – as well as their learnings. You’ll learn not just what but also how to get involved. You’ll hear about these sustainability projects:
- ICU Not Wasting
- Finding Our Safe Space: Infection Control and Environmental Sustainability
- Baby Steps: Greening The NICU – What are the Challenges?
- Plastics in Healthcare: Reduce, Replace, Recycle
- Reducing Use of Disposable Nonsterile Barrier Plastic Gowns, and more!
We’ll also have speakers from:
- NSW Health Climate Change and Net Zero Unit
- Climate Action Nurses and Australian College of Nursing Climate and Health Faculty, and
- Climate and Health Alliance, who’ll talk about what they do now, how these organisations support sustainability and nurses and midwives, and what inspired them to get involved in climate change.
To end the day, there’s a hands-on workshop empowering you to use your voice for sustainability at work!
Please read the NSWNMA Education Cancellation, Refund and Catering Policy prior to registering for this seminar.
Lunch and refreshments are provided.
A CPD Certificate will be provided to attendees at the end of the seminar.
