About the Topic:
Falls Prevention in Aged Care: A Collaborative Approach
This is a practical, evidence-based session that explores how allied health professionals — physiotherapists, occupational therapists, exercise physiologists, and podiatrists collaborate with nursing staff to reduce falls, promote mobility, and manage complex care needs.
Laurance will showcase and provide practical strategies for collaboration between allied health and nursing teams. We’ll cover mobility aids, targeted exercise programs, foot health, and home/environmental modifications, along with how chronic conditions and cognitive decline can impact falls risk. Walk away with actionable insights to enhance safety, mobility, and quality of life for your residents and clients.
Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards (ACQS) – Trauma Awareness, Diversity & Identity: Keeping it Simple!
Take a deep dive into the key expectations of the strengthened ACQS in the areas of trauma and diversity. Learn how you can support the needs of those who have experienced trauma or are from diverse backgrounds. There will be interactive case studies and scenarios to get attendees reflecting and involved.
