The Blue Mountains Unions Council is hosting and supporting many activities in the lead-up to the NSW state election as we join with others in our community to stop the privatisation of NSW.

We encourage you to get involved. There’s lots to choose from!

Sunday 1 February

Blue Mountains Unions Council Inc General Meeting. This where our members generate ideas and plan for our future events. Guests welcome. 10.30am in the Dining Room, Family Hotel 15 Parke St, Katoomba.

Saturday 7th February 2015 onwards

Stop the Selloff letterboxing. Contact Peter on 0408 973 557 to arrange a pick up. There is no set date to do this, it is to do at your own leisure up until the March 28 election, although there will be groups letterboxing on most Saturdays. Click here for more information about the ETU Stop the Selloff campaign.

Doorknocking for change – Blue Mountains

Workers in the Blue Mountains are coming together to change the conversation and focus on the real issues in NSW, including privatising our public hospitals, selling off our electricity network and TAFE cuts.

With two months until the NSW state election, it is time we act and spread the word that NSW is NOT for Sale! We encourage you to attend this fun-filled meaningful day, get to know other union members, supporters and volunteers!

Blue Mountains Unions Council/Unions NSW Fair @ Springwood Town Centre.  The Blue Mountains Unions Council will be inviting all local candidates and the NSW premier, Mike Baird, State Opposition Leader Luke Foley and Greens leader John Kaye. Local workers will be invited to speak. There will be stalls from Stop the TAFE cuts, the NSW Nurses & Midwives Association, the Electrical Trades Union. Local community groups have been invited. There will be a barbeque lunch. Come along and get some info, show your support. Contact Nicole Cini nc***@un*******.au for more information or to get involved. The ASU are hosting a Save Our Local Community Services rally 12 noon cnr of Bent St and Farrer Place, Sydney.
