End of life research project for nurses

Invitation to participate in a study examining whether concerns about legal and ethical risk affect the provision of pain and symptom relief to end of life patients.

Nurses from all areas – nurse practitioners, palliative care nurses, intensive care nurses, respiratory nurses, renal nurses, oncology nurses, nurses working in general medical wards or other speciality wards, residential aged care nurses, and community/home care nurses are invited to participate.

The researchers wish to interview nurses for 45-60 minutes, starting in July hopefully finishing in August 2016.

This research project for nurses is about the legal/ethical situations around providing adequate pain relief for end of life patients.

This project is part of a NHMRC grant and has ethics approval.
