Armidale Rural Referral Hospital and Armidale Community Health

  • January 2022 intake. Full time positions include,
  • 12-month program with 2 x 6-month placements or 4 x 3-month placements in Medical, Surgical, Paediatrics, Mental Health and Community Health (incorporating Community Nursing and Transitional Aged Care).
  • Placements can be tailored to the individual
  • Structured education sessions throughout the program and problem-based peer learning sets with case study presentations.
  • Opportunities for clinical supervision, ongoing networking and support with peers, mentors and educators.
  • opportunity for continuing employment after 12-month program
  • Armidale Hospital offers a two-year transitional nurse second year program which has elective rotations through Emergency, Intensive Care (ICU), Medical, Operating Theatres, Paediatrics and Surgical.
  • Armidale Hospital also offers a post graduate Midwifery program supported through Charles Sturt University.

Midwifery MidStart:
Armidale hospital

  • February and July intakes
  • Charles Sturt University led program with the hospital
  • opportunity to gain experience across the whole continuum of care throughout a woman’s pregnancy labour/birth and postnatal journey.
  • Students work with midwives in a supportive learning environment.
  • A rotational program where Armidale students will also gain experience in at least one other facility during the course.
