  • Hospitals include Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick, and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
  • Opportunity to complete clinical honours and opportunities for hospital scholarships
  • Temporary full-time and part-time positions
  • The program will enable participants to provide person-centred care to children and
  • Participants are given an opportunity to indicate their ward preferences during the 12-month program.
  • Rotations include: Perioperative service stream (anaesthetics, recovery, scrub/scout and day stay) (CHW), Recovery (SCH), Adolescent surgery/medical, Oncology/haematology, Burns/plastic surgery, Neuroscience, Cardiothoracic, Surgical, Orthopaedic, Medical, Isolation/infectious diseases, Day stay/medical and surgical, Renal/liver/kidney/transplants (CHW), Neonatal intensive care (CHW), Gastroenterology/ endocrinology/rheumatology, Emergency department, Paediatric intensive care unit (ICU)
  • their families by developing a philosophy and personal model of children and adolescent nursing.
  • Provides study leave
  • clinical support sessions to foster reflective practice.
  • First-year registered nurses are provided with guidance in relation to their ongoing career and professional development pathways.
