Without going into detail, my employer handed me a letter saying I was to be part of a review into my alleged role in certain policy breaches. This process was completely in the realm of the executive and human resources. As a nurse on the floor, I was a fish out of water.
Thankfully, I had the NSWNMA on my side. My industrial officer explained we were dealing with an area of law where there was no onus on my employer to establish proof. Had I not been an NSWNMA member, I wouldn’t have had a clue about what I was doing. Things could have ended very poorly for me without this initial advice.
My industrial officer provided me with excellent further advice and spoke really well for me during the recorded interview. She guided me right the way through the process. I’d have been lost without her.
Throughout this ordeal, I felt very well supported by the NSWNMA team.
Thank you NSWNMA for your help. In such a litigious world, it feels good to be part of my union. It really is true when they say: united we bargain, divided we beg.
