New First State Super chair

The Chair of First State Super Trustee Corporation (FTC) Dr Tom Parry has announced the appointment of Mr Neil Cochrane as his successor.

“Neil brings extensive knowledge of the superannuation and investment management industries and will make an outstanding Chair,” Dr Parry said.

In a career spanning 40 years in both South Africa and Australia, Mr Cochrane’s roles have included Chief Executive Officer of the Retail Employees Superannuation Trust (REST), Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Global Head of Business Development at Colonial First State Global Asset Management (CFSGAM) and Chairman of the Commonwealth Bank Group Super and Fund Executives Association Ltd (FEAL).

“This is a significant appointment for First State Super. Neil has the credentials and experience to oversee the continued growth and development of the fund,” Dr Parry said.

Dr Parry will step down after 14 years as the FTC Chairman. Neil Cochrane will take up the appointment on 1 March 2014.
