Union Summer for students 2016

Applications are now open for the Unions NSW Union Summer 2016 Internship Program.

Union Summer is a three-week program run by Unions NSW in conjunction with participating unions. The program will run from 1–19 February 2016. Successful applicants are placed with a union and gain first-hand experience of how unions work.

Nursing and midwifery students, here is your opportunity to spend 3 weeks at your union, the NSW Nurses and Midwives’ Association (NSWNMA).

Who should apply?

If you are:

  • Passionate about the rights and conditions of nurses and midwives
  • A keen follower of social justice issues
  • Enthusiastic about recruitment of new nurses and midwives to the union
  • Want to learn more about how your union works

Then this program is for you – we invite you to apply for the 2016 Union Summer Internship Program.

An allowance is paid to all successful applicants.

Previous Union Summer Interns have gone on to work for the NSWNMA or become activists in their workplace. The experience is a great opportunity, watch this short video from previous participants.
